{"id":168,"date":"2007-04-28T21:04:54","date_gmt":"2007-04-29T02:04:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cabanonline.com\/davids-world\/davids-on-youtube\/"},"modified":"2007-04-30T21:23:10","modified_gmt":"2007-05-01T02:23:10","slug":"davids-on-youtube","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.cabanonline.com\/news\/davids-world\/davids-on-youtube\/","title":{"rendered":"David&#8217;s on YouTube!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, that&#8217;s right &#8230; I&#8217;m in a video you can find on <strong>Youtube<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>The year is 1988.\u00c2\u00a0 The date is June 4th, 1988.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WRUW, the radio station at Case where I volunteer, has just revived a live-performance show called <strong><em>Live From Cleveland<\/em><\/strong>.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m the host of the show at the time.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The show is on every Saturday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, and features a different music group performing live in our studios.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However &#8230; it&#8217;s June 4th.\u00c2\u00a0 Nice weather abounds!\u00c2\u00a0 So, we decide to do the show outdoors in the courtyard of the building where the radio station has its home.\u00c2\u00a0 That way, anyone can come see the show in progress!<\/p>\n<p>The music group on this outdoor edition of <strong><em>Live From Cleveland <\/em><\/strong>is &#8220;The Mice&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 They&#8217;re a garage\/punk\/rock band local to Cleveland.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 I guess we knew they were videotaping their performance at the time &#8230; but didn&#8217;t think much about it.\u00c2\u00a0 So now, 19 years later, portions of the video end up on <strong>YouTube<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>The YouTube excerpt is from the last 7 minutes of the show.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Mice perform a song that lasts about 2-1\/2 minutes &#8230; and then on comes the host (me!) to chat with the musicians!\u00c2\u00a0 Then, they perform another song.\u00c2\u00a0 Then I appear again (about 6 minutes into the video) to give the closing credits for the <strong><em>Live From Cleveland <\/em><\/strong>show!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not recognizable by face &#8230; but definitely by voice &#8230; if you can imagine my voice 19 years ago!\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>[youtube]http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lRRjeQVdrr8[\/youtube]<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Live from Cleveland <\/em><\/strong>is still on WRUW, and still features live bands, but now it airs on Thursday nights from 10:00 pm to 11:00 pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, that&#8217;s right &#8230; I&#8217;m in a video you can find on Youtube!
